Asher Nursing Home is a 17 bedded mental health nursing home and Parkview is a 8 bedded supported living service in the heart of Hove supporting people with complex enduring mental health conditions and we require daytime support workers to join the team looking after the individuals living within the home.
We are seeking new, vibrant people to join the team as Support Workers working contracted hours each week (although bank work is available if required) including weekends to assist the people who live with us in maintaining all aspects of their lives. Ideally you will have an understanding of how mental disorder may affect a person however, this is not essential and lived experience or personal experience is as valuable as on the job experience.
A caring and emphatic attitude and ability to work with residents who can be challenging at times is essential, ability to manage situations as they arise and be confident in your decisions is essential. We will support you within your role to become the best that you can as we want our residents to be the best they can be too!
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their well-being. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with both clients and healthcare professionals.
Cooking skills are also needed for this role to help and support people with their dietary needs and with helping and supporting with preparing and serving meals.
Duties
Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support individuals in daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to each client's specific needs.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interaction and participation in activities.
Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients as needed.
Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members.
A compassionate approach with a commitment to providing high-quality support to individuals in need.
