This is a rewarding opportunity to support Foster Carers, Kinship Carers and children, helping to create safe, nurturing environments where young people can thrive.
We are a large and passionate service working across 2 specific teams; Mainstream and Family and Friends (Kinship Care).
The Mainstream team recruit, assess, and support foster carers to offer stable, nurturing homes for children who cannot live with their birth families.
The Family & Friends Team undertake assessments for children and their families, and provide a wide range of support services
One post will sit in the Mainstream fostering team supporting the 'Step Down' from Residential to Foster Care. The second post will sit in the Family and Friends team focusing on supporting Kinship Foster Carers, Special Guardians and children in their care.
As our service continues to grow, we are excited to welcome the additional Support Officers to join our experienced and committed team.

About the Role
As a Support Officer, you will:
Provide practical and emotional support to foster carers, Special Guardians and their families.
Assist with the coordination of training, support groups, and events.
Help monitor placements and maintain accurate records.
Support recruitment and retention activities for foster carers.
Work closely with social workers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
The role in the Family & Friends Team includes reviewing Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Support plans and providing varied support according to those plans, including emotional support, mediation, support and advice around issues such as parenting and contact, direct work with children and providing a duty service. You will also work as part of the team to provide kinship support groups, children's participation groups and arranging kinship carers and children's regular peer events.
What We're Looking For
Experience working with children, families, or in a social care setting.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A proactive, empathetic, and team-oriented approach.
Ability to manage a varied workload and respond to changing priorities.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
