Job Purpose:
To support the Planning Manager in the creation, coordination, and maintenance of daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet sales demand and operational requirements.
The Support Planner will work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Sales, Purchasing, and Transport to ensure plans are accurate, achievable, and aligned with business needs.

Key Accountabilities:
Support the creation of daily production plans to optimise materials, equipment, and labour.
Assist in providing demand and raw material requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Maintain accurate planning data to ensure production schedules remain achievable and up to date.
Communicate planning updates, changes, and risks to the Planning Manager and wider teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and supply chain activities.
Ensure adherence to food safety, quality, and health & safety standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with gathering sales forecasts and order information to support effective production planning.
Liaise with production teams to obtain key planning inputs, including staffing availability, equipment status, and stock levels.
Support the preparation and distribution of daily and weekly production schedules.
Monitor ingredient and raw material stock levels and highlight shortages or risks.
Assist with the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for purchasing teams to ensure timely ordering.
Collate and maintain production and productivity data to support short-term and long-term planning.
Escalate potential issues where production may not meet demand.
Support communication between Planning, Sales, Purchasing, Production, and Transport teams.
Assist with identifying supply chain or production risks and contribute to contingency planning.
Support improvements to planning accuracy, efficiency, and data quality.
Maintain accurate planning records and documentation.
Food Safety, Quality & Compliance:
Support compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, HACCP, Quality Management Systems, and BRC standards.
Ensure planning activities align with site and regulatory requirements at all times.
Report any food safety, quality, or compliance concerns immediately.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
Previous planning or production planning experience (required)
Strong organisational and coordination skills.
Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage changing priorities.
Good communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments.
Competent IT skills, including Excel and planning systems.
Desirable:
Experience within the food manufacturing industry.
Poultry industry experience (highly desirable).
Understanding of production environments and manufacturing processes.
Experience working with forecasts, BOMs, or supply planning.

Logical and methodical approach to planning.
Team-oriented with a collaborative working style.
Willing to learn and develop within a planning function.
Able to identify issues early and escalate appropriately.
Decision-Making Authority:
Supports production planning activities.
