David is a young man in his early 30's who resides in his own home in South Ayrshire area.
David enjoys a range of outdoor activities including gardening, walking and going camping he is also very sociable and enjoys chatting to his neighbours, friends etc. David has a great sense of humour is outgoing and likes to spend time with family and friends on a regular basis.
David is living life to the full and is looking to recruit a new team member to join an already established, motivated team to help him do all the things he likes.
David's needs people to support him who:
Have a good sense of humour
Are calm and Confident
Can stick to clear boundaries
Can think outside the box and on their feet
Are patient and can give others time to process information
Can help someone develop new skills and maintain current friendships
Can help someone make new friends and connect with their community
Are adventurous, forward thinking and motivated
Can work in a person centered way
Understand the importance of family involvement and multi-agency working
Have an understanding that all behaviour is communication
Can work as part of a small team and on your own
Have good active listening skills and communication skills
Have a full UK driving license
Enjoy getting out and about
Have a real interest in supporting people with disabilities
You Should:
Have experience of supporting people with a learning disability
Have an understanding and/or experience of Autism
Have an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this.
Please note that this post requires candidates to participate in a rota system which includes evening, weekends and sleepovers.
You can only be appointed for this post if you are registered with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and must be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of employment.
