Josh lives within the East Renfrewshire area and is looking for an experienced person to join his support team. Josh enjoys going out and about with his support staff, listening to music and spending time in his craft room.
It is essential that you have the ability to stay calm, even in stressful situations. You should be able to show empathy and have an understanding of Autism. Sticking to boundaries and following the support strategies in place is very important and helps keep Josh safe and reduce anxiety.
We are looking for Support Practitioners who can:
Work in a person-centred way
Understand the importance of multi-agency working
Understand all behaviour is communication
Demonstrate excellent communication, listening and written skills
Promote strong community networking
Be forward thinking and motivated
This post requires a clean full driving licence and the ability to drive a Motability vehicle.
Desirable
:
An understanding of Autism
An understanding or experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities
SVQ Level 2/3 in Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to work towards this
You can only be appointed for this post if you are registered with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and are able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council when required for your post.
This position comes under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order)
