We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality assistance to individuals with diverse needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients' independence and well-being within their homes or care facilities. Duties
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
Provide patient care and emotional support, fostering a respectful and caring environment
Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary needs and preferences
Engage clients in meaningful activities, promoting mental and physical well-being
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Support clients with specialised care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
Document care provided accurately and report any concerns to supervising staff
Skills
Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer's, and senior care practices
Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or transfers
First aid certification and CPR training are advantageous
Strong caregiving skills with a focus on empathy and patience
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members
Reliable driving skills for transportation duties
Ability to manage challenging behaviours with sensitivity and professionalism
Organised approach to medication administration and daily routines
Childcare experience is beneficial for supporting family members or younger clients
