Overview

As a Support Worker in Adult Social Care, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. Your compassionate support will empower clients to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety and well-being. You'll engage with clients in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences, providing essential care and companionship.

What you'll do

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Provide compassionate person centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, and autism. Implement care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces to promote a safe environment. Engage clients in meaningful activities that enhance their social interaction and cognitive function. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and support. Perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.

Experience

Previous experience in home health care or long-term care settings is preferred. Familiarity with CPR and First Aid certifications is essential for ensuring client safety. Experience working with individuals requiring memory care or dementia support is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality is crucial. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and identifying changes in health status are necessary.
