Purpose of the Role:
To provide person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to access their local community and promote independence and life skills. The role focuses on promoting life skills, offering choice, and inclusion while ensuring safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement:
Support individuals to access community resources, social events, and leisure activities to promote inclusion and life skills.
Life Skills
Offer opportunities to develop and promote life skills such as cooking, shopping, using public transport etc
Safeguarding:
Follow safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable adults and report concerns promptly.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of care, support plans, and progress notes.
Team Collaboration:
Work with families, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic support.
Skills & Attributes:
Empathy, patience, and a caring nature.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Understanding of person-centred planning and safeguarding principles.
Qualifications & Requirements:
NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential).
Free Enhanced DBS check for successful candidate.
Working hours between 09:00 - 15:30 Monday - Friday
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.75-13.75 per hour
Expected hours: 12 - 21 per week
