We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and reliable people to join our supported living and residential teams. Currently we have services (supported living) in Gosport and in Fareham (residential).
We offer training and development with exciting opportunities to progress within the company.
We have a variety of full time and part time hours available, including sleep shifts. Shift times are 8am - 8pm or 8pm - 8am and we are looking for people with flexibility to support shift cover including weekdays and weekends. We can accommodate shorter shifts to meet the needs of the services.
Role - following a thorough induction and training programme your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting with individualised care plans, and encouraging daily goals and activities
Providing varying degrees of support in daily tasks within the person's home including cooking, cleaning and laundry
Recognising and celebrating progress and achievements
Promoting and supporting choice and independence
Supporting on a 1:1 basis within the home or wider community
Maintaining a safe and caring environment including, managing events and behaviours that may challenge services
Supporting to develop and maintain meaningful friendships
Undertaking a key-worker responsibilities and supporting with professionals meetings if required
Liaising with a variety of professionals and outside agencies
Undertaking a variety of administrative tasks, including accurate recording and reporting
Maintaining own knowledge and understanding of records, policies and other relevant documentation
Challenging poor practice and know how to raise concerns
Other duties as assigned
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Core Skills:
English Skills - Including the ability to read, write, speak and listen so you can communicate with people, make accurate reports and records, read and follow instructions etc
Number Skills - Including the ability to do calculations, record numbers, understand measurements, use timetables and to plan work so you can record fluid intake, count medication, measure and record weight etc
Employability Skills - including the ability to problem solve, work in a team, plan own learning and development and manage own health and well being so you can prioritise work loads, manage work/home life balance, respond well to challenging behaviour and adapt to changing demands at work
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
GCSE or equivalent
NVQ in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
Past experience in supporting people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
Full UK driving licence
