Sessional Workers with SEN experience needed, to support Children with Additional Needs

We have several roles available across our term-time groups. You can apply to one or many of the days/times listed here:

Monday- 2:45-6:30, 5:15-7:45pm

Tuesday- 2:45-6:30, 6:30-9pm

Wednesday- 2:45-6:30pm

Thursday- 2:45-6:30pm

Saturday- 9:00-4pm

Sunday (bi-weekly in Esher)- 10:00-3:30pm

We support people over 300 children, young people and adults with a learning disability and autistic people to create the life they want to live by providing opportunities that develop skills, confidence, and lasting friendships.?

Role



You will be part of a small and dedicated team responsible for delivering an inclusive, energetic and age appropriate schedule of activities for children aged 5-11 years. This includes messy play, art and crafts and free play as well as a light meal.

The role will be both challenging and rewarding and you must enjoy working with others in a busy and hands-on environment. You will assist with preparing and delivering the sessions within a safe and caring environment and working within the framework of the charities policies and procedures. You will support the children with personal care, moving and handling and developing their communication skills and ensure the safeguarding of the vulnerable young people in our care.

Qualities



You will have a warm encouraging and caring personality with a willingness to have fun while supporting and engaging with the young people. You must be confident and enthusiastic and able to encourage and help others. You must have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interact well with both children and your team members. You must be reliable, honest and trustworthy.

Free Training



We have a comprehensive e-learning programme offering up to 20 courses for you to develop skills and enhance your CV, including Induction, Safeguarding, Disability Awareness and First Aid training courses.
All appointments are subject to satisfactory Enhanced DBS (we arrange) and references

Pay: Up to 13.91 ph

Requirements



Qualifications - GCSE or equivalent

Experience looking after or working with children with additional needs

A driving license is desirable if you're over 21, as some of our staff drive the minibus to collect the children from school

Have the right to work in the UK.
