Residential Senior Support Worker

to join our Children's Residential Home in Leeds. Responsibilities



Provide direct support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to foster a supportive environment. Implement care plans as directed, adapting approaches based on individual needs and circumstances. Engage children in activities that promote social interaction, learning, and development. Providing emotional support during challenging times Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals Empowering young people to actively participate in decision-making about their lives and future Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning shopping etc.) Act as a positive adult role model for the children within our residential homes. Provide a safe and nurturing environment to support, advise and guide our young people to develop social, emotional and physical well-being. Help our children develop self-esteem, a feeling of safety and develop personal strategies to deal with behaviours that challenge and ultimately to achieve their optimum potential. Support and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of all aspects in the home including cooking, cleaning and finances.. Ability to engage with our children, helping to develop their interests and organising relevant activities to support this. Ensuring that the needs of the children are being met and reviewing and recording changes to those needs.

Skills



Proven experience in childcare or working with children is preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, families and professionals. A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation purposes. Strong IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes. A compassionate nature with the ability to build rapport with children and their families.
