Job Summary


The Support Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings this client has his own personal residence which you will be working at.

This position involves supporting the client with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they care for, particularly individuals with dementia or other health challenges.

Duties



Assist clients with prompting personal care tasks as they are independen. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life. Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with challenging behaviours. Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans. Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols.

Shifts



2 x 12 hour shifts

PART TIME

through the entire week. Fair rotation to ensure not everyone will do weekends.

WORKING AD HOC SHIFTS EACH WEEK, PERFECT FOR BANK AND PART TIME PICK UP SHIFTS

To meet the 24 hour care needs of the client, flexibility is required for shifts, pick up shifts available. Permanent role self-employed

Skills



Experience in assisted living, support work or home settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care practices and principles is essential. Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of related procedures. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively through patience and empathy. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for accurate reporting and documentation. A caring attitude towards individuals requiring hospice or home care services. Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of clients while maintaining a professional demeanour.
This role requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing high-quality support to those in need, ensuring that every client receives the respect and dignity they deserve.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 14.00-16.31 per hour
