What\xe2\x80\x99s the Role: Support Worker (Female)

What It Takes:

An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.

Where You Would Work: West Midlands Supported Living Service, Kidderminster

The West Midlands Supported Living Service offers 24 hour care and support to adults with learning disabilities who might present behaviours that challenge. Our services are delivered across two small residential settings in Kidderminster in partnership with housing associations. The service currently supports 5 service users.

Each person we engage with is supported and enabled to live as independently as possible, to maintain their tenancies, to manage their behaviours and to enjoy life to the full. Our approach is bespoke to each person\xe2\x80\x99s needs and adapts along with them. The settings are small scale, quiet, homely and welcoming and comprise a range of private and shared spaces with associated garden areas. Both services are well located for access to local amenities and transport and are supported by dedicated, experienced, compassionate and highly skilled teams. The service is of a consistently good quality, is long established and well respected.

Salary Details:

Support Worker (Female)

37 hour contracts

\xc2\xa321,131.76 per annum

The lawful recruitment of a Female for this position is an occupational requirement permitted by the Equality Act 2010

Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of \xc2\xa345.00 per night applies*

*Please note all applicants must already hold the legal right to work within the UK.
