- About The Role -
FEMALE - Support Worker
You will be working with a young lady who is severely deaf and has a spinal cord injury. She lives in her own home with her boyfriend (and family visiting on a regular basis) in the Norwich area. Our client enjoys baking, crafts, lots of different therapies and holidays of which you will support.
You will be working within an energetic and dedicated team on a rota basis, including days, nights and weekends. You will be working with our client on a 1:1 basis during the day and night to ensure her complex daily personal care, welfare & communication needs are met.
You must have an enthusiastic personality and a positive outlook on life. You will have a caring attitude with the ability to motivate our client around her rehabilitation, which will include physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. You would preferably also have deaf awareness and have the flexibility to work shifts as part of a team. You will be responsible for being able to support our client to work toward her goals in a therapeutic, positive and meaningful way.
You will be encouraging our client to participate in activities, whilst being a key driver in providing motivation to her on a daily basis. Previous experience working with Deaf clients, or those with hearing deficits, lip reading, sign language & deaf awareness is preferred.

05:30 - 22:30
Please note you may asked to start work later and be sent home early to allow the client independence however you will be paid for the full shift hours.
Rota covers week days and weekends (not every weekend)
Rates of Pay
Up to 17.50 per hour
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check will be required.

Our client is severely deaf so all applicants must be able to communicate clearly with her with her through lip reading or sign language..
A full UK driving licence is
essential
.
Previous experience within spinal cord injuries and rehabilitation is preferred as well as working with deaf clients, or those with hearing deficits, lip reading, sign language & deaf awareness would be advantageous, but is not essential as training is provided.
You must be a committed individual with a strong team player attitude
Full flexibility to meet rota needs will be required
