Duties
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Supporting clients with mobility and heavy lifting as required.
Implementing behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
Assisting with first aid when necessary and ensuring a safe environment for all clients.
Driving clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Maintaining accurate records of client care and progress.
Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care practices.
Skills in caregiving, including home care experience.
A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications is advantageous.
Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies.
