We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting Service users in their own home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. Experience in supported living, Learning disabilities and Autism prefered. Duties
Assist Service users with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Facilitate activities that promote social interaction and engagement
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Support Service users with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary and safe handling techniques
Escorting Service users to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
Manage behaviour effectively through positive behaviour management strategies
Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or family members
Qualifications
Prior experience in Supported living, Domiciliary care, nursing homes, or home care is advantageous
Knowledge of Autism, Learning Disabilities and behaviours of concern
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with clients of all ages
Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and patience
Flexibility to work various shifts as required; a commitment to providing consistent support is essential
PMVA training prefered
