We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with disabilities. In this role, you will support clients in their daily activities, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will involve a variety of tasks tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in a respectful and dignified manner.
Responsibilities
For this position it is essential that you have a background in Positive behaviour support working and supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours of concern.
Ideally your experience will be in community base settings, such as supported living and/or residential care as a support worker .
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) would be an advantage

As a Positive behaviour support worker You will play a pivotal role in providing person-centred support for adults with behavioural needs and communication difficulties in achieving their goals. You will be supporting people to develop essential life skills and independence.

As a key team player your responsibilities will include:
Providing person-centred support.
Assisting the people we support to develop essential life skills such as cooking, personal hygiene, budgeting, and household management.
Supporting with medication, medical appointments, and maintaining good quality health and well-being.
Supporting with community activities and enabling the people we support to engage in social events, access local services, build meaningful relationships and improve their quality of life.
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive care records, documenting progress, incidents, and outcomes as required.
Working closely with your colleagues, families, external professionals, and other agencies to ensure holistic care for the people we support.
Experience
Previous experience in assisted living, or home care is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and reporting.
A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
