About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide personalised care and support to a client in Slough. The client has mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and is autistic. This role focuses on building a meaningful relationship with the client, promoting independence, and providing friendship alongside practical support. Training will be provided for insulin administration as the client has diabetes.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalised support to the client in their home, respecting their preferences and routines. Support the client with daily living tasks, including personal care, household tasks, and meal preparation. Assist the client with managing their diabetes, including administering insulin (training provided). Encourage independence, personal development, and social inclusion. Support the client to engage in hobbies, community activities, and social interactions. Build a trusting and positive relationship with the client, offering companionship and emotional support. Observe, monitor, and report changes in the client's physical or mental health. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required. Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines to ensure the client's safety and wellbeing. Attend training and supervision sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

Previous experience in care or support work is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Understanding of mental health, autism, and learning disabilities is advantageous. Compassionate, patient, and able to build positive relationships. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to undertake training, including insulin administration and safeguarding.
