We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker specialising in Mental Health to join our team. This role involves providing essential support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, fostering a safe and empowering environment for recovery and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mental health support, with additional skills in art therapy, psychopharmacology, and gender issues counseling being highly desirable. Duties
Assist clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort
Develop and implement personalized support plans in collaboration with mental health professionals
Facilitate art therapy sessions to promote emotional expression and healing
Provide information and education about psychopharmacology as appropriate, supporting medication adherence and understanding
Offer counseling on gender issues, promoting inclusivity and understanding within the client community
Monitor clients' mental health status, noting any changes or concerns for escalation to clinical staff
Support clients in developing coping strategies and life skills to enhance independence
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and any incidents or concerns
Foster a supportive environment that encourages trust, respect, and empowerment
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic approach
Knowledge of mental health issues, treatment options, and recovery strategies
Experience or training in art therapy techniques is advantageous
Understanding of psychopharmacology principles related to mental health treatments
Ability to counsel on gender issues with sensitivity and awareness of diversity needs
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Patience, resilience, and a genuine desire to support individuals through their mental health journey
