Witham Community Care are looking for a Support Worker to join their small and friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new, family run Domiciliary Care Provider with a difference. We are looking for kind, caring and confident individuals to help us support people to remain living in their own homes safely. Our Support Workers must share our vision to provide outstanding care, and preferably have experience in caring for those aged 65+, however this isn't a requirement, and we are committed to training enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who wish to begin a career in the health and social care sector.

This role is for an individual who would like to work between 18-24 hours per week. The role would suit somebody who is looking for additional work around another job perfectly or who would like to work on a part time basis.

Support Workers duties:



Working within the regulations of The Health and Social Care Act 2008. Assisting service users with personal care tasks such as washing and dressing, bathing or showering, support with continence needs. Providing a person-centred service, ensuring service users are at the heart of care delivery. Adhering to services users plan of care and considering their preferences and wishes at all times. Medication administration and management. Domestic tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, and pet care. Accompanying service users on outings such as arranged hospital appointments. Supporting service users with nutrition and hydration, ensuring good food and fluid intake. Document service user care notes, including any incidents/accidents/near misses. Completing and recording regular observations for service users such as blood pressure, oxygen levels and weight where appropriate. Delivering companionship care, including supporting service users to access the community. Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills for service users through hobbies and interests. Support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community. Where appropriate, maintain and develop professional relationships with services users NOK, family, and friends. Working in partnership with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care given meets the highest possible standards. Attending mandatory training sessions when required. Minimum of the Care Certificate to be obtained. Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures of Witham Community Care in line with relevant legislation (including The Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Equality Act 2010, The Data Protection Act 2018, The Care Act 2014, The Human Rights Act 1998). Contribute to the efficient running of the service. Report to management with any queries or concerns in line with policies and procedures. Share Witham Community Care's ethos and enthusiasm towards delivering outstanding care, in line with our statement of purpose.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 14.25-15.25 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 24 per week

Licence/Certification:

UK Driving License (preferred)
