So, what will you be doing?



We are seeking a confident, proactive, and compassionate support worker to support a young female adult with complex needs; epilepsy, autism, and a severe learning disability.

She leads a varied and meaningful life and requires dedicated support from someone who can promote her engagement in a positive and enthusiastic way, while encouraging her independence, ensuring her safety, and confidently advocating on her behalf - being her voice when needed.

Weekly Activities Include:



Working with animals

Inclusive dance classes

Engaging with music

Swimming

Cafe visits, shopping & community activities

She thrives on routine and consistency but also enjoys new experiences with the right support.

Key Responsibilities:

o Provide consistent, person-centred support o Advocate confidently on her behalf in all settings o Support engagement in weekly activities o Use visual supports to aid understanding o Offer reassurance during anxiety, fatigue or seizures o Support with personal care, medication, and mobility o Communicate clearly with family & professionals o Maintain simple records & contribute to care reviews.

Where?



Redruth - minimum 6/7 hours to establish relationships but will increase to part time/flexible.

About you.......



This role is ideal for someone with experience working with both children and adults (personally or professionally) who can anticipate behaviours, adapt flexibly, and use communication tools like visual timetables and 'now and next' boards to enhance understanding and reduce anxiety.

Person Specification - Essential:



Experience supporting people with epilepsy, autism, or learning disabilities Understanding of (or willingness to learn) seizure protocols Confidence in advocating for someone with limited communication Enthusiastic, proactive & creative in daily engagement Anticipates needs & transitions to avoid distress Calm, observant, patient & safety-conscious Able to work independently and within a small team Familiarity with visual communication tools

Desirable but not essential:



Health & Social Care qualifications Experience with therapeutic/animal-assisted activities Moving & handling / epilepsy training (can be provided) Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle
Some evenings, weekends, or holiday support may be required.

All necessary training can be provided.
