Role Overview
We are looking for Support Workers who are resilient, empathetic, and passionate about making a difference in children's lives. You'll be part of a supportive, child-focused team, helping to deliver trauma-informed care and promote positive outcomes for children with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
Support children's emotional and daily needs in line with individual care plans
Build strong, trusting relationships using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
Help children develop life skills such as budgeting, self-care, and emotional regulation
Safeguard and protect children in accordance with legal and organisational standards
Work collaboratively with professionals, families, and colleagues
Participate in activities, appointments, education, and community engagement
Keep accurate records and contribute to care reviews
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience working with children in an Ofsted-registered residential children's home
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) or a recognised predecessor
Enrolled and committed to completing within 12-18 months
GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or above)
Resilience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Ability to work shifts including evenings and weekends
Desirable:
First Aid and Safeguarding training
Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care
Familiarity with digital care systems (e.g. Charms)
Pay and Benefits
13.75-17.00 per hour
based on experience/qualifications
28 days' holiday including bank holidays (rising to 33 days for managers after 2 years)
