Please note that for this role a full UK manual driving licence is required and the successful candidate must be willing to drive the service vehicle to support people to access the community.



Furber Road is a 5 bedded service that supports people with learning difficulties and visual impairments, whilst also applying Positive Behavioural Support principals. The service is lively and the people we support enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle. It would be desirable that you have some experience of working with people with learning difficulties or visual impairment, but not essential.



As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:



To encourage and enable people we support to make day-to-day choices and major life decisions, signposting as appropriate, and to support them to develop a positive self-image and maintain good health. To support people using the service to develop relationships and maintain contact with family and friends. To provide people with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and to develop social skills and life skills. To support people to access their local and wider community and maintain a presence in their community. To support people to manage their personal finances, medication and plan new and exciting opportunities in their community.

The successful Support Worker will:



Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the wider staff team, managers, the people we support and a range of stakeholders. Have a good value base and flexibility around working patterns. Hold a full driving licence and must be willing to drive the service vehicle to support people to access the community.
