Job Description

Support Worker Team Leader (Full time) Nottingham

Make Progress Visible. Support the Team. Change Young Lives.

At Norman Galloway Homes, young people deserve more than a safe place to live -- they deserve clear progress, confidence and the chance to succeed. As our Team Leader, you will help make that progress visible every day by supporting our Youth Support Workers and working closely with our Support Manager.

This role sits between management and front line support. Your focus is to guide, encourage, and help the team turn everyday work into meaningful achievements for the young people we support.

What You Will Do

Support the Team to Deliver Good Practice

Act as the first point of support for Youth Support Workers when they need direction or clarity. Provide clear, practical guidance and help staff stay on track. Keep communication open, consistent and purposeful across the team.

Help Make Progress Easy to See

Use planners, Young Person's Stars and visual updates to show how young people are moving forward. Ensure records are completed to a high standard and highlight good examples. Reinforce that admin is evidence of success and supports better outcomes.

Keep Daily Operations Running Smoothly

Support the manager with daily organisation, coordination and problem-solving. Ensure homes remain safe, calm and welcoming at all times. Suggest small improvements that make routines clearer and easier for the team.

Build Confidence and Belonging

Offer regular feedback, reassurance and encouragement. Help new staff settle in, learn routines and understand expectations. Model a calm, consistent and trauma-informed approach in all interactions.

What You Bring

A natural ability to work positively with people and support team cohesion. Confidence with clear routines, along with flexibility when situations change. The ability to explain tasks simply and demonstrate practical steps. A calm approach when situations become busy or challenging. The confidence to hold boundaries fairly and consistently. A strong belief in progress -- for staff and for young people.
Experience in supported accommodation, youth work or care-experienced settings is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your ability to lead with clarity, confidence and compassion.
A full UK driving licence is required.

What We Offer

A supportive manager who values clear communication and calm consistency. A structured induction and ongoing development, including LAB-informed leadership training. A monthly wellbeing day with an on-site therapist. Use of a company pool car. A 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme. A monthly flexi day (unpaid) for work-life balance. Access to the Blue Light Discount Card. A clear pay and progression pathway into more senior roles. A collaborative environment where every voice matters and progress is recognised.
