At Curo, we believe in second chances and fresh starts. As our Support Worker in Temporary Accommodation Services, you'll be the friendly face and trusted advocate for people experiencing housing crisis, helping them transition quickly to permanent homes.
This dynamic role puts you at the heart of our residents' journeys. You'll champion a caseload of households who could be staying in our temporary accommodation anywhere from a few weeks to a few years. You'll provide vital support with budgeting, finances, and navigating the path to permanent housing, spending meaningful time with each resident every week.

What you'll be doing
Build trusting relationships with residents, providing regular support to everyone in your caseload
Create and implement practical support plans focused on budgeting, finance management, and moving on
Advocate for your residents, liaising with agencies and services to ensure they get the support they need
Complete risk assessments and support plans, tailoring your approach to each resident's unique situation
Assist residents with practical issues and housing-related matters
Work as part of a supportive team, contributing to the smooth running of our temporary accommodation service

We're looking for someone with strong values, resilience, and a genuine desire to help others through difficult times. Your lived experience or professional background working with people will be valuable in this role.
Essential:
Experience working with people in some capacity, whether in a professional or personal context
Values that align with supporting individuals with compassion and positivity
Resilience to handle challenging situations while maintaining a supportive approach
Excellent communication skills and the ability to advocate effectively for others
Organised approach to managing a diverse caseload
We value a wide range of experiences:
You might have worked in care homes, nurseries, or other settings with diverse groups of people
Perhaps you've advocated for yourself or others through difficult circumstances
You might have lived experience that gives you insight into housing challenges
Your background could be in any people-focused role that required empathy and problem-solving
Experience in support work would be helpful but isn't essential if you have the right values and approach
