Role Summary



We are seeking an experienced and focussed Support Worker to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable young people, helping them develop essential life skills and promoting their well-being, previous experience of supporting young people with mental health issues is required.

This role requires flexibility & the days & hours if works are restricted to weekdays after 5pm. days and evenings at weekends and bank holidays.

This role required an Enhanced DBS working with children and Adult with listed baring checks

Key Responsibilities



Provide person-centred care and support to young people aged 16 to 25 who are care leavers and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. Maintain high standards of safeguarding, risk management, and welfare in compliance with Ofsted regulations. Develop and implement support plans tailored to the needs of everyone by maximising their choices and ensure safe control in the young person' life. Foster a safe and supportive environment, promoting independence and personal growth. Conduct risk assessments and report any concerns or incidents in accordance with safeguarding policies. Work with the young people to get into employment or education. Create a positive relationship with your young people. Empower your young people by listening to them. Assist your young people to budget effectively and to live healthy lives. Evidence what you do by accurate & clear record keeping and reports. Work collaboratively with the Team Leader and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support.

Requirements



Proven experience working with young people, particularly care leavers or asylum seekers, in a supportive capacity. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and risk management. Enhanced DBS check (working with children and vulnerable adults). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, nights, and bank holidays. Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Person Specification:



Essentials

Ability to engage positively with young people. Current Enhanced DBS in Adult and Children Workforce Self-motivated, organised, calm, and empathetic. Effective communication, report writing, and risk assessment skills. One year's experience working with young people. Level 1 or 2 in Child Safeguarding. Eligibility to live and work in the UK A genuine passion for young people A can-do positive attitude. Ability to work under pressure. Access to a car and full driving license Achieve personal satisfaction by making a difference and through your support efforts contributing to the progression of others. Be a great collaborator. Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to engage positively with young people.

Desirables

Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Every Child Matters, and Children's Rights. Experience working in residential childcare settings. QCF/NVQ3 Award in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent. IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
