We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and support to individuals with various needs, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their independence in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Assist clients with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, mobility support and help with feeding when needed.
Maintain a clean and safe living environment.
Keep daily care plans up to date.
Requirements
Previous experience in caregiving or support roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or social work is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
Knowledge of first aid and CPR is a plus.
Experience working in nursing homes, or hospice care settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility aids such as Hoists/lifts.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Patience and empathy when working with individuals experiencing memory loss or developmental challenges.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training related to caregiving best practices and client care standards.
