Are you positive-minded, proactive, and passionate about supporting people to live independently?

We're looking for person-centred Personal Assistants to join our team at Blackhorse House, a unique move-on service for young people with learning disabilities and autism, or those slightly older who are living away from home for the first time.

At Blackhorse House, tenants stay for around 18 months while developing the skills and confidence they need to move on to more independent living. Our staff team is available 24/7 to respond to tenants' needs and provide support across all areas of daily life.

Any day you may be:

Helping someone read and understand a letter from the bank or doctors Supporting a tenant to contact the DWP about benefits Providing emotional support around friendships and relationships Signposting to health and wellbeing services or local networks Encouraging someone to research work opportunities or set an alarm to get up for their job Cooking together - maybe batch-preparing a chilli - or just prompting to clean up afterwards Promoting good tenancy skills and community citizenship

You will also support the service to run safely through daily assessments and checks, and you'll also work closely with South Gloucestershire Council and LiveWest Housing, so confidence in communicating with professionals (in person and by email) is essential.

Communication is key...

Although these roles involve lone working, you'll never be on your own--our team uses digital tools to share updates, record notes, and report incidents or repairs. An IT-positive attitude is important.

What we're looking for:

Approachable, friendly, and person-centred individuals Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building trust Proactive and able to work on your own initiative Passion for advocating for the rights of disabled people Strong communication skills and confidence with technology

At Milestones Trust we recognise that without the hard work, commitment and passion of our staff, we wouldn't be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:

30 days annual leave entitlement Company pension scheme, to help grow your retirement pot Learning and development opportunities to help you to build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme, and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications Health Cash Plan on completion of probation giving you access to a minimum of 695 cash back for health treatments e.g. dental, therapies, optical, maternity/paternity, NHS prescriptions etc. Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay Get paid when you want - access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet Access to an Employee Discount Platform from day one, with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers An employee referral scheme that allows you to earn points that can be converted to cash for family members or friends that you point in Milestones' direction

We pride ourselves with being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust
