We are Maplyn Care Services and our purpose is to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of long term mental health conditions, homelessness, family breakdown and exclusion.
We are looking for someone to work in our accommodation-based service in Northampton, which provides 24/7 accommodation and housing support for vulnerable adults with long term mental health difficulties.
Your primary role will be as a point of contact for residents at any time during your shift, checking for immediate risks, listening non-judgementally, providing reassurance and encouraging self -help or professional support while ensuring the unit is safe and secure. As safety and security is paramount within this role, you will be expected to maintain a fire log of those present in the building that may affect the health, safety or wellbeing of residents. A key function is to undertake health and safety checks and walk arounds throughout your shift, this will involve some monitoring of in-house CCTV.
You will need to adopt sound judgement to either resolve situations yourself, seeking support from peers and emergency services if needed. Demonstrating empathy and patience towards our residents is essential.
There will be tailored, specific Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Emergency First Aid training that will help you advance through a training pathway and progress your career at Maplyn.
If you are empathetic, driven, embrace opportunities and are willing to learn and reflect, we want to hear from you, to help us continue to achieve our vision and purpose.
