Job Description

Supported Housing Manager

YMCA Milton Keynes

Full time - 37.5 hours (including evenings & weekends on rota)

Permanent

Are you a confident, motivational leader who thrives in a role where no two days are the same and where the impact you make genuinely changes young lives?

This is your chance to join an ambitious, growing organisation and lead a team supporting young people with complex needs to build brighter futures. It's meaningful work, rooted in purpose, psychology-informed practice and high-quality service delivery.

?

What You'll Be Doing

As our Supported Housing Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of practitioners to deliver exceptional, relationship-led support for young people living in our accommodation. You'll ensure that every young person receives planned, purposeful and targeted interventions that help them develop emotional resilience, independent living skills, employability and confidence.

You'll champion trauma-informed, person-centred practice and ensure your team use coaching and motivational interviewing to empower young people to set -- and achieve -- ambitious goals. You'll also uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, compliance, case management and data reporting, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Housing service.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll train, develop and supervise your team, drive performance standards, and embed consistent high-quality practice across all locations.

?

What We're Looking For

You're the kind of leader who:

Brings experience managing and motivating teams in a supported housing, homelessness, social care or complex needs environment. Knows how to develop others to deliver structured interventions, casework and trauma-informed support. Can confidently balance empathy with accountability, always putting the needs of young people first. Has excellent safeguarding knowledge and ideally experience as a DSL. Can analyse risk, problem-solve creatively, and maintain high standards of reporting and compliance. Is an exceptional relationship builder -- positive, resilient, inspiring and able to motivate young people and staff alike.
Experience as a Registered Manager is highly desirable.

?

Why Join YMCA MK?

You'll be part of an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation making real change in the lives of young people. You'll manage a team who are passionate, committed and driven by purpose -- and you'll have genuine influence over service development. You'll work in a deeply supportive culture that values emotional needs, reflective practice, and psychologically informed approaches. You'll have opportunities to grow, innovate and shape the future of our supported housing services.
And most importantly, you'll play a key role in helping young people with complex needs build confidence, stability and hope for the future.
