You will play a key role in the support and resettlement of young people and adults, covering a wide variety of tasks that contribute to maintaining a tenancy and moving on independently into the community.
You will work with people facing multiple and complex barriers including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour and unemployment. You will work alongside partners to ensure a multi-agency approach to support people into accommodation and support them to address the causes and consequences of their homelessness.
The key focus is intensive person-centred coaching building on each person's unique strengths and aspirations so they can transition of out of their situation with dignity.

1. Supporting young people aged 18-30 and adults seeking help from Inspire Housing Solutions in South Yorkshire with their journey to independence, providing advocacy and support and the necessary skills for living independently, enabling them to identify their goals in terms of future housing and employment/education/training (EET)
2. Lone working at IHS assisting in the day-to-day running of the Service by being based in the IHS completing records and noting maintenance works.
3. Working in compliance with legislative, regulatory requirements, safeguarding the young people and adults that will be accommodated within the service and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of the service
4. Providing intensive housing management support. You will be responsible for the management of tenancies and duties include: - completing initial assessments, support plans for residents, monitoring rent accounts, and re-letting our void units, as well as providing day-to-day housing support.
5. Ensuring records for all clients is logged and completed on the day
Main duties
1. Provide an intensive housing management and resettlement service in our accommodation setting, which will require lone working.
2. To represent the service to outside agencies and community groups where required, working in accordance with the service's policies and procedures, statutory and legislative requirements developing and maintaining relationships with key agencies to high standards at all times and ensure compliance with the statutory frameworks they work in to achieve the best possible outcomes for the young people and adults supported by the service
3. To promote the wellbeing of the young people and adults accommodated within the service and to work in a way that actively promotes equality and diversity and maintains the culture and ethos of Lets Inspire.
4. To manage a caseload of young people and adults working towards the individual's Housing/Support Plan through a client centred support plan to address needs around accommodation and sustaining accommodation. Ensure these are regularly reviewed and outcome/solution focused. Please refer to section below on requirements of support.
5. To undertake such other duties as may be delegated or assigned commensurate with the level of grading and role of the post.
Administration
6. To ensure that good quality records are maintained as required.
7. To participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of individual support plans and assessments (Outcomes Star, Risk Assessment and Support Plan), ensuring they are carried out in the day-to-day support of the young people and adults.

Development
9. To be involved in recruitment, appointment and induction of staff
10. To undertake personal development and attend all relevant training.
11. Promote a positive and nurturing image of care as part of the service.
Young People/adults and Housing Management
12. To work with young people and adults so they understand their licence agreements, how to use domestic appliances and how to live as a good neighbour and to enforce conditions of the tenancy/ licence agreement, including ensuring the property is not damaged by tenants, policing rules about noise, cleanliness, use of drugs and alcohol in the property, etc.
13. To investigate and resolve any breach of tenancy conditions or complaints, and to ensure that a satisfactory resolution is achieved and understood by the young person or adult.
14. To take the lead in house meetings where all young people and adults can be involved
15. To undertake property inspections at regular intervals and at the end of the tenancy period
16. To refer service users to other agencies if additional or specialist support is needed
17. To provide support and practical help to young people and adults, such as making benefit applications, tackling housing sustainment issues, health matters, education and employment needs
18. Carry out fire drills and risk assessments, reporting concerns to the Service Manager
19. Support the Assistant Manager and Manager with arranging Health & Safety checks, reports and visits as required, liaising with relevant contractors where required
20. Work alongside and in accordance with other agencies regulations including Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley council
21. Maintain spreadsheets/database relating to tenants and houses and recording maintenance and obtaining quotes for work
22. Organise clearing and cleaning of rooms when tenants leave to make sure rooms are prepared and ready for the new tenants at Move-in and carry out simple maintenance tasks within the IHS service.
23. To carry out PAT testing training, testing and visual checks and recording
24. To work in accordance with the HIS Service Plan, including the service's specific risk management plan
25. To support the young person or adult with:
a. access and registration with health services
b. healthy relationships with family, friends and staff by pro-social modelling and restorative intervention where necessary and encourage positive peer support between residents.
c. addressing criminogenic and offending behaviours
d. relating to their ethnic and cultural backgrounds
e. becoming a member of their community
f. forming positive support networks, including recreational activities with peers
g. developing positive boundaries with all relationships
h. identifying, accessing and sustaining a programme of education, training and employment including support with an EET pathway
i. becoming 'job ready' (get into a routine, get up on time, dress appropriately, communicate appropriately, work out their travel plans etc.)
j. budgeting and shopping for essentials, to maintain a healthy diet (cooking sessions etc.)
k. washing clothes and basic repairs, basic household cleaning, basic maintenance
l. pay attention to personal hygiene, managing a healthy lifestyle, including sexual health
m. using public transport and accessing public services
n. exploring all their move-on options, including support with arranging appointments with housing officers and securing their own accommodation using the services provided by IHS such as the rent deposit scheme and local council services
o. understanding the legal and social responsibilities of holding a tenancy and who to turn to for housing advice
p. managing finances including paying service charge, shopping for essentials and broader budgeting, opening a bank account, savings account, planning for the future, financial risks, emergency options, priorities claiming benefits etc, and understanding the financial implications of an independent tenancy while working with any numeracy difficulties the young person may have
Person spec:
Qualifications
Formal qualification in working with children, young people, adults families in housing (Level 2 or above) or equivalent experience or willingness to complete relevant training
Experience
A minimum of 1 years' experience working with homelessness or children/young people/adults in a supported accommodation setting
Knowledge & Skills
To be able to communicate with colleagues, external agencies and adults both verbally and in writing ensuring you conduct yourself in a professional manner, whilst maintaining the rules of confidentiality as appropriate E
