Scarborough house is a Supported Living and Short Break service offering support to adults with learning disabilities and varying disabilities such as epilepsy, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. The Short Break service is a CQC registered 7 bedded service. The Supported Living service is made up of 3 different Bungalow's on site supporting a total of 16 adults across the service.
The ethos of the service is to enable people who live or stay at Scarborough house to have full and varied lives whilst supporting and promoting their independence.
We are currently looking to offer this opportunity to a person who has some managerial experience and wants to further their career in a dynamic setting. The manager is required to oversee the operational management of this service and collaboratively better the lives of the people we support. As the service manager, you will be required to register with the Care Quality Commission, be accountable for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the service and will be responsible for meeting required standards of staffing, in accordance with the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
About the role
To manage support for adults with disabilities whilst taking responsibility for all practice and ongoing support planning, ensuring all staff are aware of and meet the requirements of the Care Quality Commission.
Lead effective communication and liaison with Social Work Teams, Community Learning Disability Teams (CLDT), Health Professionals, Brokerage team, other service managers, and transition teams working with young adults.
Build positive relationships with people utilising the service, their families and carers.
Developing and empowering staff to support adults with disabilities, of which, some are extremely complex.
You will monitor staff performance, provide support, recognise talent, and implement appropriate individual career and development plans.
Responsible for advising on and developing policies, procedures, and operational systems to reflect the aims and objectives of the service.
Responsible for personnel and employee relations, including grievances, ill health, and disciplinary procedures. Responsibility for the recruitment and induction of all staff in line with the General Social Work Council Code of Practice and Care Standards Act 2000.
About you
Essential
:
RQF (Formerly QCF) Level 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
CQC Registration with the service if application is successful
Managerial experience in a social care setting
Experience of working within regulatory body frameworks ie CQC or PAMMS
Experience working with adults with disabilities
Experience with grievances, ill health, and disciplinary procedures
Experience with recruitment
