Job Description

We are looking for someone to work in our supported living services in Blackpool and Lytham supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues and challenging behaviours in all aspects of their daily lives. Someone who enjoys empowering and supporting individuals in a homely atmosphere, someone who is fun loving, enthusiastic, compassionate and wants to make a difference in the lives of the people we support.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday, on a rota basis including early and late shifts. There will be an element of housing management work with the expectation that clients manage a successful tenancy before moving on to more independent housing.

About the Role



As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a team to provide a dynamic supported living assistance in the community for people with complex needs. You will be supporting people in their own homes to be an active member of their community. You will provide practical, emotional and physical support in a way that has been directed by the person you are supporting. You will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop and manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives. The people we support have high expectations of quality, and they want motivated, imaginative and empathic staff to support them.

The role includes, but is not limited to

:

Providing the agreed level of support at the highest standard to tenants which could include personal care, check in visits, administering medication, daily living & domestic tasks and supporting with paying bills and correspondence. Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all our residents Supporting people with activities that they choose Promote independent living Learn about individuals' specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way Communicating with families and external agencies General running of the support, including health and safety and administration Contribute your ideas to the team to ensure a good level of support for everyone Positively contribute to the organisation's values and brand Perform any other reasonable task as requested by your manager

Ideal candidates will:



Be fully flexible, across 7 days as all shifts are worked on a rota basis. (This may include long day shifts) Be able to follow a detailed care plan along with completing daily logs Take full direction from the people they support Be able to adapt to creative approaches in working with people with complex behaviour Have excellent communication skills Have practical experience working with people with challenging behaviour Have the ability to keep accurate records Be able to work as part of a team and happy to lone work Be able to work flexibly including weekends and bank holidays Have experience of working in a diverse setting and be able to meet the cultural needs of people we support Support our digital platforms to spread awareness of our work and vision Resilient and confidence to ask for support as needed

What experience and qualifications do you need:



A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others Computer literacy Have a basic level of English and Math skills
