We are looking for a full-time animal care assistant to work within our surgical and medicine teams. This role will include cleaning and maintenance of theatre equipment, supporting and assisting with the preparation of patients for surgical and medical procedures, and assisting in a veterinary theatre setting. The role would suit a team member with good organisational skills, a thirst for knowledge and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and work at high aseptic levels, given appropriate training.

Opened in 2019 and purpose-built to industry-leading standards, Swift Referrals is a multi-disciplinary referral hospital, offering the very best in veterinary excellence, all under one roof. We specialise in the areas of orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, housing world-class facilities on our premises, from advanced imaging machines to specialist treatment and aftercare rooms. The hospital has fantastic equipment available, including a 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, an arthroscopy and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

Responsibilities
In this exciting and varied role, you will be responsible for preparing kits for surgery and maintaining the cleanliness of theatres and the practice, ensuring high standards throughout. You will assist in surgical procedures and work closely with clinicians and nurses to provide the highest level of individualised patient care. Additionally, you'll ensure the hospitalisation facilities and equipment are cleaned and properly maintained. As a proactive and reliable team member, you will also support the wider team in delivering exceptional care. Role requirementsAnimal Care qualifications are desirable.
A strong team player with confident and effective communication skills.
Good organisational skills
Self-motivated and happy handling animals under supervision.
Accuracy in following instructions and maintaining records.
Eagerness to learn new tasks and adapt to new challenges.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position consisting of 40 hours per week, split over 4/5 days. You will also be required to provide holiday cover on weekends.
