About Eclipse Energy:

Eclipse Energy is a leading retrofit specialist based in Halifax, delivering energy efficiency solutions to homes across the North of England. Our work focuses on helping households reduce energy bills, improve comfort, and lower carbon emissions through funded retrofit programmes such as ECO4 and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS). We provide end-to-end services including assessment, design, installation, and compliance under PAS 2035.

We are committed to high standards of workmanship, regulatory compliance, and a customer-first approach.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Survey Manager to lead and manage our team of Retrofit Assessors and Technical Surveyors. The Survey Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery and technical quality of all pre-installation survey outputs required under PAS 2035.

This role is responsible for setting high performance standards across the surveying function, supporting technical development, driving compliance, and ensuring our assessments and surveys are aligned with funding and installation requirements. You will oversee a diverse pipeline of retrofit projects and work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project progression from first visit to final sign-off.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Line Management

Line manage Retrofit Assessors and Technical Surveyors, including performance reviews, support, and development. Set and monitor individual and team targets related to quality, timeliness, and compliance. Provide mentoring and technical guidance, supporting CPD and PAS 2035 upskilling.

Quality & Compliance Oversight

Review and sign off assessment and survey outputs to ensure full PAS 2035 and TrustMark compliance. Oversee internal quality control procedures, flagging and correcting errors or gaps in documentation. Work with Retrofit Coordinators and Designers to resolve technical issues or redesign needs. Keep up to date with changes to regulations, ensuring all team members are aligned.

Operational Management

Track live jobs and monitor workload across the team to ensure survey deadlines are met. Liaise with the wider Operations, Business Support, and Install teams to maintain a clear and coordinated workflow. Ensure survey work supports funding requirements (e.g., ECO4, GBIS), including accurate data and photographic evidence.

Stakeholder Communication

Act as the key point of contact for internal teams requiring survey clarification or issue resolution. Contribute to reporting and attend meetings where survey performance, quality, or delivery is discussed.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Experience managing or leading a field-based team in the retrofit, construction, or surveying sector. Strong understanding of PAS 2035, TrustMark standards, and retrofit assessment and design workflows. In-depth knowledge of building pathology, ventilation requirements, and fabric-first retrofit approaches. Strong reporting and quality assurance capabilities. Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficient in using surveying software, tablets, and Microsoft Office. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

Qualifications in Retrofit Assessment, DEA, Construction, or Energy Efficiency. Familiarity with ECO4, GBIS, or other retrofit funding schemes. Experience with risk assessment, site readiness inspections, or retrofit coordination.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary and benefits package. Company vehicle or mileage allowance. Laptop/iPad and necessary surveying equipment provided. 20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Leave. Private medical insurance (company medical plan). Free on-site parking and life insurance. CPD and training support with clear pathways for progression in a growing organisation.
