The
Survey Manager
plays a key role within a professional team that delivers offshore geotechnical projects. They manage the survey positioning onboard Geoquip's geotechnical site investigation vessels.
Reporting to the Head of Projects, this role coordinates and executes offshore survey and positioning operations, assisting Project Managers in project preparation, coordinating offshore activities and ensuring the technical survey delivery matches the commercial requirements of the project. In addition, the role ensures compliance of existing systems and identifies and recommends necessary upgrades or other improvements to enhance Geoquip Marine capability.
What you'll do:
Responsible for the upkeep of all offshore survey positioning equipment, software and hardware onboard all the vessels.
Lead the technical review of client requirements, survey data preparation, including all operational and QA documentation, survey data QC and field reports.
Ownership for the generation and QC of final report and client deliverables.
Responsible for the installation, configuration and calibration of all survey equipment, to ensure the continual operation of our positioning survey equipment.
Active contribution towards continuous improvement, research, development and technical advancement of Geoquip's survey positioning assets, equipment, systems and processes, ensuring increased efficiency in project delivery.
Lead by example, demonstrating that safety is paramount in the workplace and complying with all QHSE policies, procedures and instructions.
Who We're Looking For
:
Essential:
Bachelor's degree level qualification in either a Hydrographic Surveying, Geomatics or Engineering
Significant offshore field experience
Relevant leadership experience in a similar role
Proficient with offshore positioning surveying software packages, equipment
and technologies
Minimum 25 rotations offshore as Party Chief or equivalent Project/Operational Manager
Desirable:
SSSI AHSCP Level 1 Certification
Completion of Party Chief competencies or equivalent as per IMCA requirements
