Job description
The position of a Survey Technician requires the employee to drive to different locations to install, check and collect temporary roadside traffic equipment. This includes but is not limited to; ATC's (Automatic Traffic Counters), Radar and Video Cameras.
As well as the above we would require the successful candidate to install maintain, repair, and download data from permanent traffic / loop counters.
The data captured on the previously mentioned devices will be analysed and composed into a presentable report by our Analysis Team. The report is then sent to our client who may be private or public sector.
We are mainly looking to cover area of Cumbria with some work in Stirling and North Lanarkshire. There will be times when site operations are needed further afield.

Providing maintenance, repairs, and data download of permanent loops.
Determine if equipment is functional and keeping equipment / data records.
Accurate and precise installation of various roadside traffic equipment,
Report all roadside traffic equipment related issues to a Project Manager.
Ensure communication between Survey Technician and PM is always timely and precisely.
Ensure work is carried out according to instructions from the Project Manager.
Check the quality of the collected data on completion of the survey, including that the recording is not interrupted by sunlight, rain, fog, etc.(for video) and that the data for all ATC jobs isn't faulty.
Adhering to work schedules set out by the Project Manager.
Complete QA processes and SWMS correctly with attention to detail
Work within all WHS policies and guidelines
Working as part of a team with other Survey Technicians, Managers and other Matrix Staff to achieve a successful outcome.
Responsible for the condition and upkeep of company van and survey equipment (within reason).

NRSWA Signing and Guarding Level 2 would be an advantage but will be provided if the correct candidate does not have this.
Full drivers licence required. Age 25+ due to insurance reasons.
Location:
We are looking for a Technician for our Carlisle Office (CA6 4SP). Kingmoor Business Park.
From our Carlisle office you will mainly be covering, site work in Cumbria up to Scotland, though there will be times when site operations are needed to further afield. i.e assisting our Technicians at our Wetherby Office with surveys in North Yorkshire, Manchester.
The job requires the Survey Technician to work outdoors in a busy traffic environment on a regular basis.
Working Conditions and Benefits
The contract is full time, permanent, 5 days per week. 9am to 5pm. 40 Hours.
A probation period of 3 months.
Overtime will be available at times of high workload but not mandatory. The job is physically demanding and constant travel from site to site is involved. The Survey Technician must feel comfortable with installing equipment, heavy lifting and working at height (using step ladder).
