Role Overview
As a
Surveyor (Assets)
, you'll play a vital role in shaping our property investment and energy strategies by gathering and analysing high-quality data. Through comprehensive stock condition surveys, HHSRS assessments, and the production of EPCs, you'll provide critical insights that inform our 1-year, 5-year, and 30-year investment programmes and help improve energy efficiency across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive stock condition surveys to assess the age, physical condition and remaining life of key components
Carry out Housing Health and Safety Rating (HHSRS) assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards, ensuring properties meet safety and regulatory standards
Produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in accordance with statutory requirements and organisational objectives
Collect and provide accurate data to inform the development of short, medium, and long-term stock investment programmes and energy efficiency strategies
Champion and promote the core values of the business: Caring by Nature, Working Better Together and Thinking of Tomorrow.Demonstrating these values with intent and behaviour in all interactions
More About You
You'll bring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving, helping to maintain and improve our housing stockEducated to degree level (or equivalent) and/or professionally qualified in building, asset management, or a related discipline, or able to demonstrate relevant experience
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, construction types, and materials, with experience of property surveying techniques and methodologies
In-depth understanding of Decent Homes legislation, HHSRS, and working knowledge of housing law, leaseholder consultation, building safety, and property management legislation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build effective relationships and collaborate with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders
Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to work methodically, meet deadlines, and manage diverse residential and/or commercial portfolios
Proficient in using housing and asset management systems, mobile devices, and Microsoft Office applications
Membership of MCIOB, RICS, or similar professional body (desirable), and qualification as a Domestic Energy Assessor (or willingness to undertake this training)
A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role, which covers areas including London, Staines, Winchester and Oxford.
