The Role
You will play a key role in surveying, technical drawing, and supporting the delivery of water engineering projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys, including boat-based surveys of lakes, using GPS equipment.
Perform precise setting out of design drawings and specifications.
Prepare and process survey data in CAD, producing accurate detailed drawings.
Carry out site surveys and inspections to ensure alignment with project plans.
Monitor project progress, make adjustments as required to aid project delivery team.
Identify potential issues on the site and suggest solutions promptly.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and site managers to resolve any discrepancies in construction.
Produce CAD drawings, including standard details and site-specific plans.
Maintain accurate records of measurements, settings, and site activities.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with local regulations, standards, and safety guidelines.
Secondary Responsibilities
Create Civil 3D drawings and models for lakes, reservoirs, and related structures.
Analise survey data to calculate quantities and volumes.
Upload design work to survey equipment for site setting-out and progress checks.
Upload 3D models to GPS-controlled machinery, verify accuracy, and monitor progress.
Further Development Opportunities
Assist with tender applications and project planning.
Support with the design of components such as pipe penetrations, penstocks, bridges, and weirs.
Essential Skills & Attributes
Proficiency in CAD software.
Strong knowledge of GPS-based surveying techniques.
Proven experience in setting out engineering within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and technology.
Excellent literacy, mathematical, analytical and communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
Effective time and task management skills.
Interest in landscape and waterscape construction techniques.
Full clean UK driving licence.
