Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will play a key role in ensuring food safety and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.

Responsibilities



Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls. Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality by sourcing from reputable suppliers. Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene practices throughout the kitchen. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during busy periods. Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance customer satisfaction. Keep the kitchen area organised, clean, and free from hazards to promote a safe working environment. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.

Requirements



3 years experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation. A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques or recipes. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.00-15.00 per hour
