We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team for Saturdays and Sundays at our Bloomsbury branch.
(Highgate branch looking for a sushi chef Mondays and Tuesdays so if you can work 4 days a week and can go both branches, would be great too)
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while adhering to food safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with kitchen and culinary experience who is eager to showcase their skills in a vibrant restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all customers.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items based on seasonal ingredients.
Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi dishes.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills with specific experience in sushi making or Japanese cuisine highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Previous kitchen experience is required; restaurant experience is an advantage.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
