Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, specialising in sushi preparation and presentation. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Sushi Chef will work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating precision, creativity, and dedication to authentic culinary practices.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes according to traditional recipes and restaurant standards Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in accordance with food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station and kitchen area Monitor ingredient levels and communicate stock requirements to management Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi recipes and presentation techniques Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety throughout all food preparation activities Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods Serve sushi dishes to customers with professionalism and attention to detail

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a restaurant setting specialising in Japanese cuisine Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques specific to sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes Experience with culinary presentation and garnishing to enhance visual appeal Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a professional kitchen environment Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting involving meal preparation and serving is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
