Responsibilities

Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high quality and consistency. Handle food preparation tasks including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling sushi rolls. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings. Provide excellent service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi dishes.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on sushi preparation and presentation. Knowledge of food safety standards and practices to ensure compliance in the kitchen. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Previous experience in meal preparation and serving is advantageous but not mandatory. A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques is essential.
