We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes, ensuring presentation and quality meet established standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station in accordance with food safety regulations Select fresh ingredients and manage inventory to minimise waste Follow recipes and portion control guidelines precisely to ensure consistency Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi creations and seasonal specials Adhere strictly to food safety standards, including proper handling and storage of raw fish and other ingredients Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, particularly in sushi or Japanese cuisine Strong skills in cooking, meal preparation, and food presentation Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within a professional kitchen environment Previous restaurant experience demonstrating ability to work efficiently under pressure Excellent understanding of culinary techniques specific to sushi making, including knife skills and fish handling Ability to serve guests professionally, providing excellent customer service when required Organised with attention to detail, ensuring consistency in every dish prepared Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
