Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, specialising in sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for presentation, taste, and food safety. The Sushi Chef will also contribute to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to traditional recipes and restaurant standards Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in compliance with food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station and overall kitchen area Assist with meal preparation for other Japanese dishes as required Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service and uphold the restaurant's reputation for quality

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef within a restaurant setting, preferably with specialised sushi or Japanese cuisine experience Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Previous experience in meal preparation, culinary arts, or serving is desirable but not essential A passion for Japanese cuisine and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes to guests

Pay: 13.00-13.50 per hour
