Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role involves preparing high-quality sushi dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Prepare a variety of sushi and Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in accordance with food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and utensils Assist in meal preparation during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of orders Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management Serve dishes to customers with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring customer satisfaction Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen environment

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef specialising in sushi or Japanese cuisine Strong knowledge of food safety procedures and hygiene standards Previous experience working in a restaurant setting, preferably with sushi or Asian cuisine Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential
