Sustainability Co-ordinator

to join our dynamic Sustainability Team. Reporting to the Energy & Carbon Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring energy and environmental compliance, implementing management systems, and driving forward Birmingham Airport's Sustainability Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain an ISO 50001-aligned Energy Management System (EnMS). Lead day-to-day administration and continual improvement of the ISO 14001-aligned Environmental Management System (EMS). Manage departmental documentation including Airport Environment Instructions and Local Operating Procedures. Maintain and update the legal register for sustainability, energy, and environmental legislation. Conduct internal environmental audits, support incident investigations, and ensure compliance across airport operations. Deliver regular energy and carbon reporting, including compliance with SECR regulations.

Experience Required:

Degree in an environmental discipline and/or relevant experience in a sustainability or environmental role. Full, clean UK driving licence. Membership of a relevant environmental professional body (desirable). Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 management systems. Proven experience in environmental auditing, compliance investigations, and report writing. Strong understanding of sustainability, energy, and environmental legislation.
