Job Description


We are looking to appoint a Director of Sustainability for a leading, innovative construction consultancy dedicated to driving sustainable practices across a range of sectors. You will have worked with clients to deliver energy management and low carbon solutions, and be a specialist in the efficient use of energy, minimisation, supply and low carbon technologies. The successful candidate will have extensive construction experience, ideally gained within a consultancy environment. You will be a skilled and passionate communicator, able to engage with design teams and clients to ensure that the principles of sustainable development are identified, understood and integrated into projects from the outset and then regularly reviewed throughout design and construction stages to meet with the schemes\xe2\x80\x99 sustainability objectives and move the industry towards zero carbon.

The successful candidate will deliver a cross-discipline, cross-market NZ+C offer for clients, working closely with design and engineering disciplines, sustainability teams, and social value specialists to maximise sustainable outcomes on projects.

You will have a proven track record of managing and developing a team of consultants, as well as being able to business develop and grow the existing client base, delivering a range of services including Zero Carbon Strategy, Climate Change, LCA, LCC, BREEAM, HQM & WELL assessments.

With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and social impact, this firm work closely with their clients to create long-term strategies that promote sustainable growth and positively contribute to the environment. As they continue to expand, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and visionary Director of Sustainability to lead our sustainability efforts and drive positive change.

Requirements:

Education: A degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field. A postgraduate degree or relevant certifications in sustainability would be advantageous, but not essential.

Experience: A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in sustainability, with a proven track record of successfully leading sustainability initiatives within a consultancy or similar setting.

Industry Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of sustainability trends, best practices, within both the public and private sectors is essential.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex sustainability concepts to diverse audiences.

Innovative Mindset: A creative thinker who can devise innovative solutions and approaches to drive sustainability efforts for our clients and the organisation.

Collaborative Approach: A collaborative and inclusive approach to work, with the ability to effectively manage across cross-functional teams and foster strong partnerships.
