The Role: Sustainability Real Estate Development Technician



Join Serious International as a Sustainability Real Estate Development Technician and play a pivotal role in delivering our next generation of sustainable infrastructure projects. This position is central to the development of smarter, greener, and more efficient creative facilities by merging technical real estate expertise with sustainable design principles and AI integration.

Key Responsibilities:



Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and innovation teams to apply data-driven insights across the design, construction, and operational performance of our property assets. Contribute to feasibility studies, digital modelling, and detailed sustainability assessments. Ensure all projects adhere to strict environmental and energy-efficiency targets. Manage data workflows and contribute to virtual project coordination meetings, effectively supporting geographically dispersed teams.

Communication & Relationship Building: Essential for effective engagement and collaboration with clients, occupiers, and diverse stakeholders. Written Communication: Proven ability to prepare comprehensive reports. Flexibility & Collaboration: Must be willing to travel internationally for work while ensuring continuous, effective digital collaboration with global teams.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:



Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate Development, Building Science, Construction Studies, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. Core Knowledge: Proven understanding of property development, technical drawing interpretation, and environmental sustainability principles. Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical and digital literacy, with practical experience using tools such as Excel, CAD, and Revit. Emerging Technology Interest: An active interest in data-driven decision-making, smart-building systems, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the built environment. Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, including the skill to clearly explain complex technical information to audiences without a technical background. Work Style: A collaborative mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively and independently in a remote, digital environment while maintaining excellent communication and project oversight.

Relevant Experience:



Proven ability to apply Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles throughout a project's lifecycle. Expertise in collaborating with property developers on feasibility studies (such as Matchbox), offering data-driven insights for project appraisals and design refinement. Experience in integrating sustainability and technology from the initial feasibility and design coordination stages. Capable of leading and contributing to team building within corporate environments, including working with companies like Investec. Practical, on-site construction experience, specifically assisting the project manager during the foundation stage.

Working Hours:



The standard work week is 40 hours, with flexibility required to increase hours as needed for project delivery.

Pay: 33,500.00-43,500.00 per year
