Sweeper Driver (Up to 7.5 tonne)

About the Role?

The role involves operating various vehicles including compact sweepers and refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) up to 7.5 tonnes, ensuring waste is collected and disposed of at local transfer stations. Responsibilities include conducting pre-use and routine vehicle checks, maintaining cleanliness of equipment, completing service-related paperwork, and adhering to health and safety protocols. The post holder will visit designated sites, perform high-standard cleaning and sweeping tasks, report issues such as fly tipping or faulty machinery, and collaborate with team members to deliver efficient services. Additional duties include acting as a manoeuvring assistant, supporting operational changes, engaging respectfully with customers, and undertaking training to maintain compliance.

The ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence with at least Category C1 and a valid Driver CPC card, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure while maintaining excellent communication skills and attention to detail. They should be dependable, punctual, and capable of both team collaboration and independent work, with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to tasks across various operational areas. Physical capability for manual handling is essential, along with a reliable and proactive attitude.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
